Vacation, all I ever wanted!

That's right! I started my two week vacation over the weekend, and does it ever feel good. I spent a few days with my kiddo and helped celebrate her birthday before she got on a plane to visit Grandma (as she does every year).

Happy 15th birthday!

It's going to be too hot to be outside for the next few days and we may have some thunderstorms, so I'm happily ensconced in my studio with the AC blasting.

How do you start your morning?

No, it's not a beer, I swear. It's iced coffee!  Already too hot for a regular cup of joe.

Here are a few things I could work on:

First, my dear friend made a lovely improv quilt top for her nephew. Unfortunately, she is in the process of moving to California this month and doesn't have a hope of finishing it. She asked me to quilt it for her.

Then, I have a lovely FQ set of Flock from Thomas Knauer. He stipulated that I had to make a quilt for Bumble Beans Basics with part of it. Well, twist my arm! ;-) I've been wanting to make something for Victoria's charity for a long time.

I received some really great granny squares from our MMQG cookie swap. In order to round out a whole top, I'll need to make some more.

I also need to go pick up the squares we made at our first charity sew-in to compile a top and coordinate with one of our members with a long arm for quilting.

Of course, I still have Mondrian Dream and B{squared} to finish quilting, Retro Flowers to finish piecing, and I REALLY need to get caught up on my quilting bee blocks.

First, though, I should probably straighten up my studio. It looks like a bomb went off in it, and the mess is really stifling my creativity. At least I finally sorted my scraps into bins a couple of weeks ago. I used to keep them in gallon zip bags, but the scraps were getting wrinkly and the bags couldn't contain the scrappy goodness any more.

Keep cool wherever you are!
