What a fabulous weekend!

I had a great time Friday and Saturday. Why, you ask? Who wouldn't have a fabulous time meeting one of their idols?!

That's right, I met Jacquie Gering!

I had the distinct privilege of not only attending her trunk show and workshop, but I got to chauffeur her around town. Imagine being stuck in the car with someone you to look for teaching or inspiration. Talk about a captive audience. Jacquie was an absolute delight, so generous and kind. And the trunk show? Fugedaboudit. Hearing the stories behind each quilt she brought broadened my understanding, not only of her work, but the art of quilting in general.

She will be teaching a sold out workshop on machine piecing hexagons without marking at QuiltCon. Our class was lucky enough to be her Guinea pigs.

I got all the columns shown here sewn together and am in the process of finishing piecing them. I'll need to add quite a bit more to make it the size I want, but it's a fabulous start, and so much faster than hand work!

Hope your weekend was half as lovely as mine.

  2. It's kind of obvious, but I think you should name this black and yellow quilt "honeybee" or something similar. Or maybe "Sting" in honor of a certain musician I happen to know you like. Sounds like a really fun weekend. Good to see some pictures!
    Love you
